The safety circuit is a system designed to prevent potential accidents in elevators. Elevators are equipped with safety circuits to minimize the risk of accidents.
The system consists of three serial circuits:
Stop Circuit
Plug Circuit
Lock Circuit
STOP CIRCUIT
This circuit stops the elevator until a malfunction is resolved. It circulates through the safety points in the elevator in series.
PLUG CIRCUIT
It is powered by the stop circuit and connected in series to the plug circuits in the elevator. This system notifies the main control board that the elevator’s outer door is closed. If the plug circuit does not conduct electricity, the main board will not allow the elevator to move. Likewise, if the stop circuit signal is not received, the plug circuit signal will also not be received.
LOCK CIRCUIT
It is powered by the plug circuit and connected in series to the lock circuit in the elevator. When the elevator’s outer door is closed, the system locks the door before the elevator starts moving. If the door is not locked, the main board retries according to the preset number of attempts. Once the lock circuit is active, the elevator is allowed to operate.
